    Salt Lake Flag Football (SLFF) is a fun competitive flag football league that anyone can join. Its Never Too Late. We are committed to creating the best flag football league out there. We want the league to be an experience and something you are a part of. We are dedicated to all the players and teams in the league and will do our best to make sure everyone gets what they want out of the league. SLFF is for ages 17 and up. We will have two skill levels available so everyone, no matter how talented, will be able to play and have a good time. Our games will be played at Midvalley Elementary School. There is a playground, equipment and plenty of space for families and children. Bring the whole family to your games. We want to create an interactive atmosphere between the SLFF, the teams and all the players. We want your feedback. We want to know what you want, and what you think will make SLFF better. We will be doing a lot of fun stuff to get everyone involved. We have a Photo of the week contest that anyone can be a part of. Have your family or friends take pictures at your games and then upload and submit them to our website from the Photos page. We will select weekly winners who will get prizes. We will also be selecting weekly offensive and defensive players of the week. The winners names and stats will be posted on the home page of our website and will also receive prizes. At the end of every season a league MVP will be named as well as offensive and defensive players of the year. These individuals will receive trophies and prizes. There will also be awards and prizes for the championship teams in each league. We will also be handing out random prizes and awards for great plays throughout the season. Make a great throw or catch and you might win a prize. We have a lot of interactive aspects to our website as well. There is a free agents page for individuals or teams who are looking for more players or teams to play on. Each team has their own customizable page on the website which they have complete control over. You can upload pictures, add each players name and position, write up team descriptions and post team news. Post a message for the team you are playing that coming weekend. Have fun with it. About Football

Football, also known as American football, is a team game that combines strategy and physical play. The object of football is to advance the ball up the field by running and passing the ball, and scoring a touchdown by crossing the ball into the end zone. Professional football, high school football, and college football are all highly popular spectator sports in the United States.

Football History

Football originated from a primitive game of rugby played in America in the 1840s. In 1880, Walter Camp, considered the "Father of American Football," exchanged the traditional rugby scrum for a line of scrimmage. In 1882, the four down system was introduced to negate Princeton and Yale's strategy to hold the ball without trying to score. The following year, Camp reduced the number of players to eleven, and introduced the seven-man offensive line, with a quarterback, two halfbacks, and a full back. The first professional game was played in 1895. The National Football League (NFL) began in the early 1920s. Today, football is one of the most popular sports in the United States.

Football Tips

Good football players are agile. Agility drills include: jumping rope, running through tires, and jumping over cones.

There are a variety of lesser contact versions of Football available. Tackle Football is the sport practiced by major professional leagues such as the NFL, but flag football and touch football are varieties that allow the player to be "tackled" by either touching with two hands or pulling a piece of ribbon or "flag" off the opposing player. This also allows for Co-ed or women's teams to engage without fear of injury.
